Game Projects
I have created several games that are showcased here. Most of these games started as school assignments at Fontys ICT Hogescholen, studying for my Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and Game Design & Technology. Usually, I worked on the game projects much more than the school assignment required, as it's been my hobby to create games long before I started college.
CorridorsA survival horror game where the player is dropped in a dark, abandoned and randomly generated industrial building. The player has to navigate the dark corridors in search of several keys in order to open up the exit and escape.
Monsters roam the level using a custom path-node navigation system and AI. |
Point DefenseA 3D space-simulation tower defense game. This project was an experiment which aimed to create an unique twist to an incredibly common game genre. I choose tower defense games, and decided a 3-dimensional playing field would be an interesting change, mixed in with a larger-scale gameplay of ship-to-ship combat.

Realtime EditorAn editor in which a 2D platformer level can be created, reshaped and filled with enemies, pickups and moving platforms. The twist is, while you are editing the level, players can play your level at the same time over network! They can give instant feedback on your level design while you're shaping the world to perfect their experience.

DestroiderA vertical scrolling Shoot 'em up game made in Flash, utilizing Flixel. Pilot three unique space ships in the defense of Earth, fighting against a variety of alien spacecraft flying against you in many different manouvres and patterns.
Succesfully programming persistence for level unlocks, shop, equipment hangar and skill upgrades was a challenge. The flexibel and diverse enemy wave system was also a technical challenge. |
Spectrum
A 'Mobile GPS controlled Math-puzzle game' designed in assignment of Ranj Serious Games, as part of a school assignment. The purpose of the assignment was to create a game that gets VMBO students outside to play, while learning about Math.
The game is about moving power cubes into slots that transmit their 'number' towards 'add' and 'minus' gates. The final combined number must match a certain value to win.
