PlanetoidsPlanetoids is a real time strategy game designed and developed for a school assignment of Fontys ICT & Game Design and Technology. The goal of the assignment was to create a game within the Unity engine to learn the basics of Unity. As such, this is the very first Unity3d game I have ever created.

Development
This game is created using the Unity3D engine. The game concept and a basic prototype were created at the start of the school assignment. I couldn't work on the project for awhile due to other school assignments. Just up until 10 days before the deadline I started working non stop on the game until it was completed.
Concepting
As is with most projects, the concept of the game contained much more than eventually developed. Using sketches, notes and a game design document describing the entire gameplay and style. It is my goal to one day develop the entire concept into a full game. |
Programming
The game is entirely scripted in C#. It's programmed using Visual Studio. The biggest technical challenge was learning to program for Unity3D and programming the automatic resource distribution system present in the game. |
3D Modelling
The game assets are modelled also by me. These were one of the first 3D models I've ever created. All models are created using 3ds max. Looking back, I'm proud of it, but also see many points of improvement I have learnt since. |
